The RAND on the Run team is ready to roll for the 39th annual J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge in Central Park.<\/p><\/div>\n

In the midst of a rainy week, the skies cleared on Wednesday, June 3, as 26 RAND employees ran, jogged, walked, and strolled through the heart of Central Park in the 39th<\/sup> annual J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge<\/a>. It was RAND\u2019s eighth time participating in the 3.2-mile race, as we rubbed shoulders and bumped elbows in a crowded field of 15,000 other runners from 293 companies.<\/p>\n

At RAND we don\u2019t shy away from a little healthy competition, and our fastest runners took to the start line determined to finish in the top of the RAND on the Run pack. As it turns out, last year\u2019s champs not only defended their first-place finishes, but also improved their times. Cesar Macias broke the record for the fastest RAND race time\u2014which he set last year\u2014with a blazing 21:47 minutes. Albelisa Kemp led the RAND women with a speedy 28:37 minutes, with RAND newcomer Bridget Walsh nipping at her heels just 9 seconds behind. Congratulations to all of our runners and walkers, who once again sported our customized RAND on the Run T-shirts, this year featuring a RAND Gives Back <\/a>theme.<\/p>\n

The two-night event saw 30,000 runners from 717 companies participate in the race, which began in 1977 with a modest 200 entrants from 50 companies. The J.P Morgan Corporate Challenge raises funds for the Central Park Conservancy <\/a>to continue its mission to manage and enhance the park.<\/p>\n
