NYC DOB Now Allows Early FISP Filing for NRF Buildings<\/strong><\/p>\n

If your New York City building failed to submit a required Cycle 9 <\/span>Facade Inspection Safety Program (FISP)<\/span><\/a> report, you're likely accruing monthly DOB penalties. Fortunately, the Department of Buildings (DOB) has just announced a way to reduce those fines by filing early in Cycle 10, which began on February 21, 2025.<\/span><\/p>\n

On February 25, 2025, the DOB released a new <\/span>notice<\/span><\/a> confirming that buildings marked as \u201cNRF\u201d (No Report Filed) for Cycle 9 can submit a Sub-cycle Override Request and file immediately, without waiting for their assigned Cycle 10 filing window.<\/span><\/p>\n

This new option allows building owners and property managers to stop accumulating civil penalties - $1,000 per month and $5,000 per year for noncompliance - that can exceed $17,000 annually, and bring their properties back into compliance with facade safety regulations.<\/span><\/p>\n
